Koben's 4th Birthday

Finally I have pictures of Koben's birthday posted! We have been very busy since Oma came here for a visit :)

The morning of Koben's birthday we surprised him with his new bike. He was super excited (he had been asking for one for a couple months). Then we made birthday cake pancakes and picked up Oma from the airport, which he was also so excited about. He kept saying, "do we go pick up Oma yet?!" Then we hung out with Oma and went to dinner that night.

Koben is a pro on his bike, he loves that thing to pieces! He looks so big on it, I can't believe that he is four already! We recently started swim lessons and he does great. Really enjoys it, follows directions and is a little chatter box. His buddy Tim from preschool is in the swim class before him, so he is super excited to see him there and we plan on doing playdates with them this summer.

Koben will be doing one week of summer camp this summer. A lot of the parents signed their kids up for part and full time summer camp at the Y this summer, but I'm just not ready for that yet. They take a bus from school to swim and a bus back when they are done, and that is just too much for me when Koben is only 4. I guess it's the thing to do here, most all young kids are in summer camps. Crazy...I feel like we have a lot of time for that stuff later. We have plenty for him to do and friends to hang out with :)

Koben can spell and write his name, though not always written so cleary hehe. It is super cute though. He is getting better at recognizing letters and still mixes up some colors at times. We have to be very creative with teaching him these things becuase he is not one to just sit down and do it.  He loves drawing pictures now which consist of a lot of blob people with faces, arms, legs and some hair. He is very creative in telling me what he is drawing. Yesterday he drew a picture of daddy and a rocketship and what I thought were stars, but "no mom, those are just polka-dots" haha. He is obsessed with Spiderman (superhero birthday pics to come soon), loves to read, play outside, be with friends, paint, dress-up and make forts. He still loves his smoothies and hummus, and his cheesy Annies bunny crackers. He will eat a lot of variety now-loves his veggies. We have a rule too-he has to try everything at least once. He has grown a ton. He grew 1/2 an inch just during his preschool year! His height is 42 in (90%) and weight 41 lbs (75-90%). He did great at his doctors check up. We took the boys together and that was really cute having them take turns. I will post Kellans stats at the bottom since I never got around to it.

Mr. man starts his last year of preschool next year and is super excited about it. Even though he is still so young, it is amazing how much bigger he is acting. Just the difference from 3 to 4 is crazy. He is still the sweetest, most loving, at times highly emotional, sensitive, funny, smart little guy that he's always been, just a little bit bigger :(   :)

 Loving his new bike

The birthday cake pancakes were a hit!

 Kellan liked them too

With Oma on his new ride

He wanted to go to the park with the railroad for his bday when Oma came

Birthday dessert at dinner

Kellan's stats:

Height 36 1/2 (90%)
Weight 28.5 (50%)
HC 49 1/2 (75%)

The doc was really impressed with him speaking in sentences (which he did a few times during his appt.) and said he is progressing just fine. He just had a Hep A shot and it didn't even phase him.
