Koben started preschool! I am finally getting around to posting this after almost his third week. Unfortunately our camera broke (Avery said let's buy the bigger expensive one at Costco and I said no, and dangit, he was right!) so I only have these few pictures from my phone. We are in the process of getting a new one, which will be the one I decided not to get in the first place :)
Koben has been doing FANTASTIC at preschool. The first day was my work day so I was very lucky to be able to be there on his first day. He was Mr. Social, let me tell you. I wasn't sure what to expect because Koben can generally be a bit sensetive and likes to observe, and it can take him a while sometimes to warm up. This was not the case. He was super excited and just started playing and talking, and getting into all the fun stuff. I really think it helped touring it, doing the playdates and totally talking it up to him. One of his teachers, Teacher Wilma, told me she was very impressed by his please and thank-you's at snack time and said he was her little helper. On the car ride home he told me he loved preschool and he helped the teacher. Such a sweetie.
Last Thursday we had to take a rock to school. They were going to draw their rock and describe it, weigh it, and paint a picture of it. When we walked into school he saw Teacher Wilma and said, "Look, me and mommy got my rock for school!" He is totally into it. He has found a couple of buddies that he talks about. One is a little boy named Sean. Teacher Claire (there are two teachers) told me that during story time they chatted and gave eachother a hug. Aiden is also another one of his buddies and we have hung out with him and his mom and dad outside of school as well, so he always asks if he'll be there. He also took a liking to Hannah. They have very similar personalities-can be very quiet and observant, a bit shy but then they get going they have a blast. When I go to pick him up I have seen him everytime at outdoor story time at the very front, talking and rasing his hand. Makes me so happy he is enjoying it.
The first day I left him I was very emotional. Koben was like, "Bye Mom. Love you." He was ready to go. I think I may have shed a tear or two in the car, if it wasn't for little brother throwing a fit on the way to the car because we left Koben and he didn't want to sit in his stroller. Had to deal with little mister, and then those tears took a backseat :)
Last week when I was leaving he yelled, "Mom!" Ran over, gave me a big hug and said, "I love you, I'm gonna miss you when your gone." OMG, there was a tear there. Good thing I had my sunglasses on.
No, he is not crying here. But he did not want his picture taken.
He also didn't wear his new shirt I bought him, which wasn't
surprising. So we ended up with this haha
In the parking lot at preschool
2nd day he was all about it!
"Mom! Get my Thomas Pack-Pack"
He always walks barefoot to the car. He thinks it's
hillarious and says, I want to walk with dirty feet.
