Almost time for preschool!

I am so excited! Koben starts preschool next Tuesday, Sept. 6th!  Last night we had parent teacher conferences, where we chatted with the teacher about Koben and they got to know a little more about him before he starts school.  Tonight I went to a 3 hour orientation meeting. I will be volunteering on Tuesdays, so I'm pretty happy that Kobens first day I will be there. We had a nanny to watch Kellan (and for an occasional evening or emergency), but that fell through a couple days ago when she emailed me saying she took another full-time job. So that completely sucked and we are back to square one. A couple of girls I meant tonight who I got along with are interested in nanny-sharing or know people who are looking for a nanny position, so that is hopeful. One woman I meant is around the same age as me and her two boys are almost the same age as Koben and Kellan. Her work day is also Tuesday, so she suggested maybe we do a nanny share because they do not have a perm. person right now either. Hopefully that would work out, it would be perfect. In the meantime, if I do not line anyone up, Leslie from my mamas group offered to watch Kellan a couple of times until we find someone. Totally sweet of her and I completely trust her. We'll see by friday.

My "job" with the preschool will be Silent Auction Committee and the Social Committee. They did not have anyone for Social Committee so the teacher asked me tonight if I would be willing to do it. She said it would not be too much with both kiddos and it sounds fun, so I thought "what the heck."  Plus, I think I am really looking forward to being involved with something outside of the home. Our jobs on our work days vary and it will be fun to help in the classroom. Bonus-I get to keep a sneaky-sneaky eye on Koben to see how my little buddy is liking school :)

Mountain View Parent Nursery School is accredited with the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and has been for sometime now. It makes me feel much better knowing I am starting him out somewhere with quality care.  They seem to really care about education and teaching kids how to interect well with one another.

I am super excited for Koben! He is going to have so much fun. I am looking forward to all the extra activities planned for the year. All Family Picnic, Outdoor Movie Night, Justin Roberts concert, Holiday Brunch, Outdoor Play, Family Ice Skating Event, Parent/child sharing (just for dad and him)...lot's of fun stuff! The paperwork was not so fun, and all the bazillion things we had to go over tonight, but of course it is needed. Here is a picture of some of the paperwork we got, just because I wanted to put a picture of something from the school, ha!
