Wow, have we been busy! Between moving and having a toddler and an infant, it has definately been crazy. I feel like we finally have the house somewhat in order! We have been having a lot
of fun exploring the area and surrounding areas. The weather has been hot and sunny everyday we have been here, and I'm loving it! I found a great local parenting magazine that has given us a ton of information on things to do with your family in the bay area. I was recently reading about a big Halloween parade and festival they have in the next town over, and I thought "what?! Possibly no rain or cold on Halloween?" We are looking forward to more summer activities, and fixing up our backyard for the kiddos!
Kellan is growing like crazy! He is over 12 lbs now and in the 95th percentile for his weight. It feels so great knowing that he is nursing well. He now smiles and coo's, and is already very active. He loves laying on his activity center and will even smile at Koben when he talks to him. He is holding up his head really well too. And of course I am loving all of the baby cuddling and snuggling. He is sleeping in the co-sleeper in our room and only wakes up 2-3 times to nurse. I have actually been getting pretty good sleep! He is a really good baby, and generally very content and smiling. He reminds me so much of Koben, but is so different at the same time. I cannot believe he will be two months old. I swear he looks like a four month old though! He is getting to be one big boy. It has been such a joy having another little boy in our life.
Koben is just hillarious now. He says the most random things and is a total chatterbox. Just today he said a couple of really funny things. At dinner he would not even try his pancakes (I made breakfast), he just said "ew, icky, yuck, I want a milkshake." And this afternoon, with no prompting, he jumps from his art desk seat to the couch and yells "To infinity and beyond." I was laughing so hard, which of course made him do it three more times-oops. :-) He loves to watch Toy Story, The Chipmunk movie or Happy Feet. Though in Toy Story I fast forward through the mean neighbor kid who tortures his toys :-) He is so imaginitive now with his toys, which I love to see. Sometimes when he plays in his room, I stand outside the door and listen to him and it just melts my heart. Any time we leave from somewhere, he will say "bye, see you when I get up tomorrow." I am just baffled at how smart he is and how much he has learned in the past couple of months.
Koben is doing pretty well with his little brother. He loves him so much. He is always kissing him, asking where he is, and if he cries he says "don't cry, where binky at?" He always says good morning to him, and wants to kiss him goodnight. He also loves to talk to Kellan in a baby voice. At times he is too rough with him and gets overly excited and a few times has hit him or thrown a toy towards him. He immediately gets sent to time out for those instances. Generally though, he does really well with him. It's just hard because he has so much energy. I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle it. Holy moly! And now I will have two energetic little guys!
We just had the boys' pictures done, and they are adorable! Can't wait to post them! Kellan was totally content the whole time and Koben was a ham. I have two of the cutest boys on the planet!
