One and Three!!!

Ok so I'm gonna try this again. After finally getting around to posting this last night, something went wrong with the web page and I lost my blog I posted. So annoying! Anyways, we can't beleive our boys are one and three years old! This last year flew by. It has been such a joy to watch the boys grow together. It really is an amazing thing to watch a sibling relationship develop. It was hard at first, moving with a 2 week old and a two year old to a whole new state where I knew knowone, Avery had a new job, we had to adjust to being a family of four and Koben had a lot of changes that came his way. But after sometime, we all got the hang of it. The boys do so well together. Some days are not perfect and can be pretty chaotic and other days are smooth sailing. We will hear an occasonal, "No Kellan! I don't want to share!" or "That's mine!" and a "Don't cry Kellan, here, here's a toy." or "I love you Kellan, your my family."  My favorite thing is when Koben will go somewhere with one of us and says, "Take care of my baby brother for me!" Kellan is starting to get very vocal with Koben now too when he wants something or doesn't like something-hillarious! He still loves to give Koben hugs and kisses. They wrestle now too and always share food which is the cutest. Never a dull moment that's for sure! We are so blessed and it makes me feel so happy to know that they will always have eachother as buddies.

Kellan had his one yr check-up and did great. His doc was very impressed by his progress and milestones. The doctor was previously concerned with his weight.  At around 10 months or so I started supplementing with formula. Although Kellan was breastfeeding regularly, my supply was low. After his 9 month check-up his doc advised me to start pumping to check my supply and sure enough, that was it. I tried holding on as long as possible, but quit completely just before he turned one. I never understood why breastfeeding mothers would say they were sad to stop, but now I do. It is such a special, bonding experience and one that only the mommy and baby know. It was soooo much easier the second time and breastfeeding is just easier in general. No bottles, packing formula, water, heating stuff up...it's always there and ready! Plus it does make you feel good knowing that your baby is getting all natural, made just for him milk. He transitioned fine, and the nightime feeding was the last to go. At first he did not go to sleep as easily, but does now. Now he is on whole milk and LOVES it. Never used a bottle either, so that was a bonus too.  He is walking all over the place, even running at times. He is one busy little boy! He loves to point and say "dat" at everything. He is also getting good at mimicing sounds and trying to say words. Right now he says "mama", "dada", "cacka" (for cracker or Koben), "apple", "nana", "mil" (milk) and "na" (no, thanks to big bro). He also signs milk, bath, all done, mama and dada. Gosh, he is just getting so big! He has seven teeth now, three of which were coming in during his bday party. He loves food, being outside, baths, giving "loves", playing with Koben's toys and his big brother. Follows him everywhere. He is a beautiful little boy and such a crack-up already. ~Kellans stats~  Height: 30  Weight: 20 lbs 12 oz  HC: 36 1/2

Koben had his three year check-up and also did awesome. Just had his Hep A shot and it didn't phase him. The nurse was cracking up because he is sitting there holding his sleeve up going, "this arm here."  That's our big boy!  His ped. said he was very mature for his age and loved his personality.  On his stats and checkup sheet she gave us she put at the bottom, "Very good!!"  I am so happy to say that Koben is binky free!! All on his own he threw it away. We told him when it got icky, it was gone. He really had no issue after. Amazing. Plus, he has not pooped in his pullup for a month and a half now, always goes to the pottty! He will tell us when he has to go pee usually when were out, but not at home. Were workin' on it and he is doing really well.  He starts preschool at an awesome coop we found in September two days a week.  He instantly loved this one when we toured it and the teachers and parents were so great. We are very excited. They have done some park playdates also, so it has been nice meeting some of the families.  He is so ready for preschool. He always wants to go to the gym with one of us because he loves the daycare there. He was in a gym class at the Y but they no longer have a teacher so we are looking into new summer activities. Possibly soccer or a class at another Y that is close. He just amazes us everyday at the things he says and does. He just talks, talks, talks and is generally our happy little dude. People tell us all the time what a happy little boy we have. But they don't see him at home (-;  He definately has his three yr old boy moments.  We are so proud of that kid though. I love my boys equally with all my heart but there will always be a special little place for my firstborn. ~Kobens stats~ Height: 38 1/4  Weight: 35 1/2  HC:  49

This year has went by so fast, we always remind ourselves to cherish the time with them.  Before we know it, our little monkeys will be all grown up and no more snuggles and eskimo kisses. What an amazing year this has been. We are truely lucky!
